Dense evergreen shrub or small tree, smaller than the species. Fine textured, feathery, glaucous silvery grey-blue leaves. Freely borne bright lemon yellow flowers from late winter in to spring. Smooth grey or brown bark. Relatively frost hardy.
Best in mild climate areas. Well drained soil in sun, drought tolerant once established. Can be slow to flower and may be cut back to ground in hard winters, but will usually re-grow quickly.
If required, prune after flowering. Can be pruned to make more tree-like or open. Alternatively the leader can be pruned out to create a more bushy habit. Remove any dead branches, which can be caused by excessive shade.
Native to the Snowy Mountains of New South Waes, Australia and usually found at quite high altitudes.
