Dwarf evergreen making a neat cushion composed of fans of tiny golden-green leaves, the foliage in neat sprays.
Needs moist soil in sun or light shade.
As well as being useful to give a splash of brightness to a damp border or the edge of a pond, it can also be an effective container plant as long as the soil is kept. It has even been used as a house plant.
Not a true grass or sedge but a grass-like perennial ( member of the Araceae family), however it is normally listed as a grass by most nurseries. Contains the oil calamus which gives a sweet fragrance to all parts of the plant.
