cultivation:
Needs a good sunny position and reasonably rich, well-drained soil, but with adequate water during the growing season.
Short lived perennial or biennial. Removing the flower stalks at the base as soon as the flowers fade will extend the life of the plant.
Tends to be subject to attack by red spider mite and rust.

propagation:
From seed, sow at 13°C, late winter to mid-spring to flower in the same season or midsummer if treating as biennial/perennial.
