Root vegetable. Excellent variety producing good sized and shaped, flattened round roots with fairly smooth skin and firm white flesh.
Early cropping from October. Shorter foliage than most, good resistance to bolting.
Needs moist fertile soil in sun or part shade. Ample water is needed in order to produce good edible roots.
Harvested in early winter.
From seed, sown in spring.
The swollen roots are eaten as a vegetable.
Good companion plant for brassicas, as it repels insects.
