description:
Distinctly pendant, narrow spikes of purple flowers in summer, maturing to golden-buff coloured seed heads. Sweetly fragrant. Large pale green leaves, silvery-green underneath.

cultivation:
Very tolerant of poor conditions. Best in well drained soil and full sun.

Prune hard to control size, shape and encourage fresh flowering growth. Best done in early spring, but additional partial pruning can be done after flowering in autumn to prevent winter wind damage.

usage:
Attractive to butterflies.
