The small leaves are green with an irregular creamy-white margin and are often misshapen. Very slow growing eventually making a compact dome shaped shrub. Inconspicuous flowers.
Tolerant of many conditions but best in reasonably fertile, moist soil and part shade. Happy in full sun if the soil is not too dry.
Always very slow growing , but regular feeding helps, such as mulching with well rotted manure or compost. Trim hedging and topiary plants from an early age in order to promote bushy growth. Mature plants are quite tolerant of drought.
From semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
The perfect plant for low formal hedges. Its ability to be trained into precise shapes makes it ideal for topiary. Can be grown in a container.
Probably the best 'silver' Box.
