description:
Funnel-shaped, upward facing, deep pink flowers, red on the back of the petals, produced in midsummer. Wiry reddish stems.

cultivation:
All clematis prefer alkaline soil but will normally tolerate other soil types. Requires regular supply of moisture. When planting, make the hole deeper than usual, as a precaution against Clematis wilt.

Prune hard back in late winter.
