description:
Double flowers of lilac-purple, paler in the centre, up to 8cm across. Late flowering, from midsummer to late autumn.

cultivation:
All clematis prefer alkaline soil but will normally tolerate other soil types. Requires regular supply of moisture. When planting, make the hole deeper than usual, as a precaution against Clematis wilt. Prune hard back in late winter.

propagation:
Semi-ripe cuttings in early summer. By layering in late winter or early spring.
