Golden yellow pea-like flowers in mid spring. Gracefully arching greyish green stems with tiny green leaves. Very free flowering and a compact habit.
Well drained soil in full sun. Thrives in poor acid soils, lime-tolerant but dislikes shallow chalky soil. Drought tolerant.
Resents disturbance and best planted when small.
Prune after flowering by shortening all young green growth by up to two-thirds. Avoid cutting back into old wood as it is reluctant to re-shoot.
Very good for mass planting on dry banks and borders.
Hybrid of Cytisus multiflorus x Cytisus purgens, raised in Holland.
