Large, fleshy, strap-shaped, mid-green leaves and in summer, sturdy stems bearing large, pineapple-like, racemes of star-shaped greenish-white flowers with a tuft of green bracts on top. Probably the largest growing species.
Fertile, moist soil in full sun or light dappled shade. Only borderline hardy and needs a warm position or best in a pot, overwintered in a frost-free position.
From seed or removal of offsets.
Borders or containers. Exotic appearance.
