Large, shiny, palmately-lobed leaves that are irregularly edged and splashed with white. Thick, erect stems. It has candelabra-like creamy white flowers in October, followed by blue-black fruits. Comparatively unusual.
Best in moist, humus-rich, acid soils, but tolerates a wide range of conditions, including light-sandy and heavy-clay soils. May become chlorotic in nutrient deficient soils. Prefers shade.
Good for shady areas such as town courtyards. Exotic appearance but hardy.
