description:
Bulbous perennial with very narrow linear grey-green leaves and slender erect stems carrying pendant, bell-shaped greenish creamy white flowers with darker green veining. Early to mid spring flowering.
cultivation:
Best in moist, well drained, moderately fertile humus-rich soil in full sun or part shade. Will grow in fairly dry soils and is drought tolerant once established, but the bulbs may rot in very wet conditions, particularly in winter.

By seed or bulb offsets.
usage:
Medicinal herb used mainly for the treatment of bronchial infections, coughs and colds. Grown commercially in China.
