description:
Bulbous perennial with erect, narrow lance-shaped, grey-green leaves. Pendant, bell-shaped flowers in mid to late spring, of dusky greenish-purple with yellow rims and covered by a greyish bloom.

cultivation:
Needs a very free draining, moderately fertile soil in full sun or part shade. Dislikes very wet conditions, particularly in winter. Fairly easy to grow and may naturalise well in suitable conditions.
Plant bulbs about 5 to 9cm deep.

By seed or bulb offsets.

usage:
Good for naturalising in a rock garden or similar location.
