description:
Large spreading shrub or small tree. Rounded, softly hairy leaves, glaucous underneath. Dense clusters of short-petalled, sweetly scented, deep yellow flowers in winter.

Best in moist, fertile, acid to neutral soil in sun or part shade. Dislikes dry soils. Benefits from a site sheltered from strong winds. Prune if required, by removing dead or unwanted branches in late winter/early spring.
