description:
Large spreading shrub. Obovate, mid-green leaves which turn butter-yellow in autumn. Very small, but numerous, heavily scented, yellow flowers with green calyces, in late winter and early spring on bare shoots.

cultivation:
Best in moist, fertile, acid to neutral soil in sun or part shade. More tolerant of slightly chalky and heavy soils than other Witch Hazel species.
Prune if required, by removing dead or unwanted branches in late winter/early spring.
