Striking large ruffled flowers of tan-brown with orange-yellow tints at the petal bases and orange beards. Early summer flowering.
Well drained, preferably neutral to slightly acid soil in full sun. Rhizomes should be partially exposed and flowering is best in areas with long warm summers. Divide clumps when congested.
