Tall spikes of rich yellow flowers. Early season flowering, in June and July.
Prefers well drained, neutral to acid soil. avoid very chalky soil. Prefers full sun, will tolerate a little light shade. Not long lived plants, best divided every few years.
May be susceptible to diseases and pests such as Lupin aphid. May self seed, but unlikely to come true. Deadheading will avoid unwanted seedlings and encourage a long flowering period.
BY division or cuttings.
Lupins fix nitrogen in the soil, improving fertility.
