Dwarf form of compact habit producing multiple spikes of densely packed pinkish rose-red flowers in late spring and early summer. Palmate leaves with numerous leaflets.
Prefers neutral to acid soil. Not long lived plants and susceptible to diseases and pests such as Lupin aphid. May self seed, but unlikely to come true. Deadheading will avoid unwanted seedlings and encourage a long flowering period.
From seed or by division. Will normally flower in its first year if sown early.
Lupins fix nitrogen in the soil, improving fertility.
