description:
Small rounded, deciduous tree. Sparsely produced but very large cup-shaped, fragrant, pale lilac-pink flowers, creamy-white inside, up to 35cm across in mid spring. Flowers from an early age.
cultivation:
Prefers heavy, rich and moist lime free soil in a sheltered position, but quite adaptable. Can be pruned after flowering or in July or August. Tolerant of atmospheric pollution.
