description:
Bushy, prickly evergreen. Pinnate leaves have sharply toothed, wavy-margined, glossy dark green leaflets which turn red-purple in winter. Dense racemes of rich yellow flowers in spring, followed by white-bloomed, blue-black fruits.

Moist, well drained, humus-rich soil in full or part shade. Will grow in full sun if conditions are not too dry.
