Very large, semi-double white flowers with yellow anthers, late spring or early summer.
Best in a fertile, moist, well-drained soil with some shelter from cold winds. Early morning sun during late frosts can damage the flowering buds.
By grafting or layering - quite difficult and slow.
Established multistemmed plants may also be divided, though a disruptive and somewhat risky operation.
