Prefers a hot sunny open site and free drained soil, but will grow in most locations and soils.

From seed sown in-situ where they are to flower, in spring, early summer or autumn, just lightly covered with fine soil. Germination usually takes approximately 21 days (or seed overwinters from autumn sowings). Thin seedlings if necessary.

Borders and cottage gardens.
