description:
Suckering, evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub. Clusters of pendulous, tubular, dusky red-pink red flowers with orangey-red lobes and creamy-yellow inside.

cultivation:
Best in moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun but tolerant of a range of conditions. Top growth may be damaged by hard frosts and in any case, in cool climates, it is best cut back hard at the end of the season or in early spring.

propagation:
From stem cuttings or rooted suckers.

other notes:
A backcross hybrid of P. capensis and P. rectus 'Winchester Fanfare', made by Peter Dummer of Hilliers Nurseries in 1985.
