description:
Small erect shrub with wiry stems and small, opposite, aromatic, mid-green leaves. Magenta-purple flowers over a long period in summer and often into autumn. Tends to be deciduous in cool climates.

cultivation:
Warm, dryish position with well drained soil and full sun. Reasonably hardy but needs a sheltered location to over-winter.

propagation:
By cuttings. Will set seed but resulting plants will be variable in colour and form.
