description:
Clump forming with dark upright stems and glossy green lance-shaped leaves, stem-clasping at the base. Attractive, relatively large orchid-like, white flowers with heavy purple spotting, from late summer to mid autumn. Spreads slowly by stolons.

cultivation:
Prefers a moist but well drained, humus-rich, sandy loam in light shade. Will grow in full sun if the soil does not dry out. Can be susceptible to slug damage.

propagation:
By division in early spring.
