Removing Plant Base

Explanation

For a variety of reasons, you may wish to completely remove Plant Base from a PC. There are no special problems in doing this. As far as is possible, our software is designed to have a minimal effect on the configuration of your computer.

A normal Windows uninstall routine is provided. As is often the case with these procedures, occasionally some elements cannot be removed automatically. They can easily be deleted manually to ensure all the disc space is released.

Instructions

  • If required - first back-up any data files that you may possibly wish to re-use in future.

  • Run the standard uninstall, either from the Windows Start/Programs menu, or by selecting remove from the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.

Because Plant Base uses some shared components, the uninstall will sometimes ask if they should be deleted or not. It is always safest to leave them remaining on the system, in case another application needs them. They are always Microsoft supplied files, do not take up much space, and probably already existed before Plant Base was installed. (you can of course delete them if you're sure they are no longer required!)

  • Once the uninstall has finished, use Windows Explorer to check the Plant Base program and data folders. If they exist - just delete them along with any files within. The default locations are:
    C:\Program Files\Deeproot Plant Base
    C:\Program Files\Deeproot Plant Base\data
