Finely-cut, deeply lobed, purplish burgundy-red leaves, turning bright red in autumn. Vigorous growth, sturdy stems and relatively coarse leaves
Moist, well drained, fertile soil in sun or part shade. Needs a position sheltered from cold winds and late frosts, which can damage emerging foliage. Prune if required, by removing dead or unwanted branches in late autumn to midwinter.
By grafting in late winter, or bud-grafts in late summer.
Similar to, and possibly the same as, Acer palmatum var. dissectum 'Select Red', 'Red Select' and 'Holland Select'.
