Very distinctive foliage, the lower half of the leaves become splashed with white and pink in summer. Scented white flowers sometimes followed by yellow fruits on female plants. Dioecious.
Fertile, well drained soil in full sun or part shade, sheltered from strong winds.
Prune in late winter if required.
Reaches about 4m. in 10 years, may ultimately attain much greater heights in ideal conditions.
From seed, or by semi-ripe cuttings or grafting, in late summer.
