description:
Erect, succulent sub-shrub, sparsely branched with each stem terminating with a tightly packed rosette of spoon-shaped light-green leaves up to 15cm long, margined with fine hairs and sometimes mottled with purplish-green. Produces large panicles of bright yellow flowers in late spring.

cultivation:
Not frost hardy, requiring a minimum winter temperature of 10°C. Moderately fertile, very sharply drained soil in full sun or some shade. Liberal watering during the growing season, but allowing the compost to dry out in between. Little or no water during the dormant, winter period.

propagation:
From cuttings. Allow cut to dry off, insert into sandy compost and keep just moist until rooted.

Native to Morocco bur naturalized in other areas.
