description:
Vigorous large deciduous tree, similar in many ways to the Common Horse Chestnut but having very large palmate leaves, up to 40cm across. Long panicles of yellowish-white flowers with red-pink markings. The fruits are smooth-skinned with slightly smaller 'conkers' with a large white eye.

cultivation:
Unfussy and thrives in most reasonable soils but best in moist, well drained, deep, fertile soil, in full sun or part shade.
