Hardy annual with slender, downy stems and narrowly lance-shaped to linear greyish-green leaves. Long lasting upward facing flowers are deep purple-pink with paler centres and larger than the species at up to 75mm across.
Poor, well drained soil in full sun. Dead-head to prolong flowering.
Sow seed directly into its growing position.
Grassland plant well adapted to growing amidst other plants.
