description:
Vigorous climber with thin but strong and wiry, twining stems. Attractive palmate leaves, usually semi-evergreen. Vanilla scented purplish flowers in spring. Sausage shaped fruits may follow, but not always produced in cultivation.

cultivation:
Any moist, well drained soil in sun or part shade. Easy to grow but dislikes root disturbance. Can become invasive. For good fruit production it is probably best to have several plants to enable cross-polination.
