Low growing succulent with sprawling, creeping stems that turn up at the ends. The offsets are self-rooting, to make spreading clumps. Rosettes of blue-green, thick fleshy leaves, often flushed reddish purple, with short golden yellow spines along the edges. Erect stems carry short spikes of tubular pinkish coral-red to orange-yellow flowers.
Sharply drained, dryish griity soil in full sun. Needs warm contitions to thrive well but will tolerate periods just below freezing. Will grow in some shade in hot regions.
By separation of rooted offsets, very easy.
