Semi-double, upward-facing, cup-shaped, dark reddish-pink flowers on dark stems in late summer and autumn. Relatively short growing habit.
Moist, fertile, humus-rich in sun or part shade. Dislikes excessive winter wet. In cold area a covering of mulch in autumn and spring is beneficial

Mixed and herbaceous borders. Short stature is useful in smaller gardens.
