Large, single, saucer-shaped white flowers, tinged pink on the reverse, with yellow eyes, held on long stems above dark green foliage. Flowering late summer to autumn.
Moist, fertile, humus-rich in sun or part shade. Dislikes excessive winter wet.
Cut back dead flower stems after flowering and foliage back to soil level as soon as it browns with frost. In mild winters, foliage will persist for several months. No staking is required. Divide every three years. Mulch in autumn and spring. Feed in mid-spring and midsummer with general purpose fertiliser.
By division in autumn or early spring.
