Low growing evergreen with arching stems of glossy mid to dark green leaves. Young shoots are reddish and foliage turns dark red in cold winters. Small clusters of slightly fragrant, urn-shaped pink flowers in spring followed by red berries. Fairly vigorous.
Best in well drained, sandy, acid soils but will tolerate some lime. Salt tolerant and grows well near the sea. Very hardy.
From nodal cuttings.
Good variety for groundcover.
