Evergreen subshrub, often grown as a tender annual. Branching habit and opposite, elliptic to lance-shaped mid-green leaves up to 15cm long. Umbel-like cymes of red or orange-red, occasionally yellow or white, flowers with yellow centres from summer to autumn.

Well drained, fertile, loamy soil in full sun. Tendy, in frost prone areas best grown in a greenhouse or conservatory. Water freely during the growing season, keep almost dry in winter.

From seed or basal cuttings in spring.
