description:
Evergreen subshrub, often grown as a tender annual. Branching habit and opposite, elliptic to lance-shaped mid-green leaves up to 15cm long. Umbel-like cymes of red flowers with yellow centres from summer to autumn.

cultivation:
Well drained, fertile, loamy soil in full sun. Tender, in frost prone areas best grown in a greenhouse or conservatory. Water freely during the growing season, keep almost dry in winter.
