description:
Dwarf form with leathery green leaves. Small reddish-purple flowers in spring. Self-fertilising and therefore freely produces red berries.

cultivation:
Grows in almost any soil, unless waterlogged. Best in shade but will tolerate sun in cool areas.

propagation:
From tip cuttings, about 12cm long, taken in summer or autumn. It is usually possible to root cuttings by standing in a jar of water.
Fertile seeds are produced, but will not come true.
