description:
Dramatic succulent evergreen making clumps with large rosettes of pointed, lance-shaped greyish-green leaves. Yellow-green flowers with red bracts are produced on thick red stems. The flowering rosette is monocarpic, so dies after flowering but produced further side offsets.

cultivation:
Very well drained soil and a sunny position. Needs a mild climate but will survive a few degrees of frost if given good drainage.
