description:
Somewhat tender, twining climber. Evergreen with small narrow dark green leaves. The small tubular flowers are pale greenish cream-yellow and are followed by the distinctive purple-blue berries, which may remain hang from the slender branches for a long period.

cultivation:
Needs a moist but well drained soil and protection from cold winds and frost. Wire or trellis support is required. It may be successfully grown in a container.

propagation:
From seed, best sown as soon as ripe. Also by semi-ripe cuttings or layering.
