Variety with star-shaped bright violet-blue flowers. Low spreading clumps with rounded to ovate, toothed, mid-green leaves. Better behaved than the species.
Prefers light and medium, neutral to alkaline, well-drained soils and full sun but will grow in some shade and is tolerant of nutritionally poor soil.
Easy by division at almost any time. Also by seed or basal cuttings.
Ground cover on poor soils, in sunny positions.
