description:
Dark red-purple stems with green and yellow striped leaves, edged purple. Racemes of gladiolus-like bright orange flowers from midsummer to early autumn.

cultivation:
Not frost hardy and in cold areas needs to be lifted and stored for the winter. Best in a fertile, humus-rich soil with frequent watering during the growing season. Full sun or a little shade for part of the day.

propagation:
By division of rhizomes.
