Small bushy annual or short lived perennial with dark bluish-violet tinged leaves and dark purple stems. Produces numerous small rounded glossy blue-purple fruits that turn red when fully ripe.
Best in reasonably fertile, moist, well drained soil and a sunny warm location. Tolerant of most soil types. Thrives best in warm climates or can be grown under glass.
Mostly decorative but the fruits are very hot if eaten.
Suitable for growing in containers.
