Succulent perennial forming a colony of erect and branching, fleshy grey-green stems. Although leafless most of the time, produces very narrow, lance-shaped leaves up to 12cm long, in winter that normally drop by early summer. Terminal clusters of pale yellow flowers.
Well drained rocky or gritty soil in full sun and a warm, frost-free location. Very heat and drought tolerant.
From seed, cuttings or by division
Arid, tropical and sub-tropical gardens. Conservatory or house plant.
Native to the Canary Islands, found on Tenerife, El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma.
