Semi-herbaceous, non-clinging, scrambler. Mid violet-blue flowers, up to 7cm across, with cream anthers, freely produced over a long period in summer, usually May through to September. Flowers on the current year's growth.

Needs tying into a support or allow to trail along the ground, or scramble though shrubs.
Prune hard in early spring.
