Pendent, open bell-shaped flowers with reflexed petals, giving a shape reminiscent of a pagoda roof. Pale mauve-pink and the reverse of petals greyish-pink with a purple-pink central bar, flowering from July to September.

All clematis prefer alkaline soil but will normally tolerate other soil types. Requires regular supply of moisture. When planting, make the hole deeper than usual, as a precaution against Clematis wilt. Prune hard back in late winter.
