description:
Herbaceous variety with a scrambling, semi-climbing habit, not self-clinging. Small, fragrant, violet-blue flowers with a large tuft of white and yellow stamens. Flowers from July to September.

cultivation:
All clematis prefer alkaline soil but will normally tolerate other soil types. Requires regular supply of moisture. Best in a sunny position. When planting, make the hole deeper than usual, as a precaution against Clematis wilt.
Cut back hard in autumn.
