description:
Semi-prostrate evergreen with trailing stems of leathery, finely-cut dark-green leaves. Freely produced small, star-shaped cream flowers with greenish centres, in spring. A lovely, cool, delicate effect.

cultivation:
All clematis prefer alkaline soil but will normally tolerate other soil types. Moist, well-drained, cool soil but in a position protected from cold winds and very low temperatures. Sun or part shade.

propagation:
Semi-ripe cuttings in early summer. By layering in late winter or early spring.

usage:
Ground cover for a sheltered rock garden or raised bed. May be trained as a low climber.
