Semi-herbaceous, scrambling, non-clinging climber. Deeply 3-lobed leaves. Bell-shaped, slightly nodding, deep purple-blue flowers, with yellow stamens, about 6cm across. Free flowering from June to September.

Free draining soil and a sunny position. Needs some form of support or can be grown through other plants, alternatively allowed to trial. Hardy and not susceptible to disease.
Can be pruned back hard after flowering.

Suitable for growing in a container or front of borders.
